6″ ZZ Plant
LIGHT Low-medium light. Prefers semi-shade but can take very low light levels. It performs well in bright light but will then need watering more often.
WATER Easy to look after, it prefers to be too dry rather than too wet. Water every two weeks, and don’t allow the plant to sit in excess water. A sign of overwatering is if the lower leaves turn yellow. The stalks hold water, so don‘t keep the soil wet. If watered too much or allowed to sit in water you may find yellowing leaves.
FACTS The most attractive thing about zamioculcas may not be its toughness, low light ability or low water requirements – but the fact that it seems to have no insect problems, or at least none that anyone has been able to identify to date. Eliminating pest control makes caring for this plant much easier. It has proven to be very durable under less than ideal indoor conditions. Zamioculcas require minimal watering and handles low light and neglect well.
